With a yellowish-brown body and dark, dramatic stripes, Bocote (Cordia spp.) delivers visual impact. Its flatsawn grain can be full of figure—including eyes—yet it remains easy to machine. While some species contain silica, Bocote is generally smooth to work and glue. Found in Mexico, Central/South America, and Africa, it’s ideal for specialty pieces and fine woodcraft. This slab is surfaced on both sides and measures 1-1/4" x 13-3/4" x 46".
