Great jig for limited use
Great for intended purpose. With that said, it will not work in making a joint for a box. As far as I can see, the most practical application is making frames.

I normally question jigs like this becuase they always advertise they work and after purchase I find out it was a waste of money. NOT the case with this jewel. I purchased this one because I was making a coffee table with 4x4 posts. I had the frame of the table dry fitted with 3 dowels per joint in less than 30 minutes. The only downside to this particular jig is that you have to move/adjust for every hole vice being able to make multiple holes as with the deluxe model without having to adjust the jig. The only way I can see to better this product is to have an an all inclusive jig that could be used with wider boards with multiple hole adapters for each size of drill bit. This would cut down on the times the jig has to be adjusted to lessen the chances of a misaligned hole. Don't get me wrong, the money I spent on this one was worth every penny compared to how easy and quickly my project went together. In short, if you have a project that calls for strong joints with dowels.....go buy this jig and make things easy on yourself.

Good self centering jig
We use this jig for doweling exterior doors together. Works great on wide stiles but would like to see same size hole on each end of guide template so you would not have to flip it over so often.
