Perfect for a specific application
This product is perfect for a specific application- cleaning out the corners of routed hinge mortises. The tool seats perfectly in the corner, one tap with a hammer and the mortise is square. It works well even in hickory and hard maple. We've had ours for months in a production environment and it is still holding up well. Highly recommended if you make entry doors.

Great idea, poor design
Overall, I suppose it's called a "hinge chisel" for a reason. If I had tried it on a pine door for a 1/8" deep cut, I might be happy with the chisel. Great idea but a tough design to handle . It's very difficult to keep steady for any type of corner cut. The back side of the corner chisel has been beveled so much that the chisel has a hard time sitting level. It has a tendency to rock back and forth. If the back side of the chisel was not beveled off, it would allow more of the chisel's base to rest on the project. It might work well for small hinge clean out but for any other corner cut I would not recommend it. Specifically, rabbet cuts for panels or glass. The corner radius and depth left by the rabbeting bit is too large for this chisel.

Fine product1 Does what it says.
I use the Whiteside cornor chisel for squaring up the corners of routed tile inlays. Does a super job!
