Compared with the original TPL180, the TPL180B motor has been boosted to 14A for additional planing power, cooling vents added to increase motor performance and service life, and soft start functionality to improve user comfort and safety. Additionally, dust/chip extraction diameter has been increased to 2" to guard against clogging, particularly when planing green or unseasoned lumber, and ultimately allowing a greater volume of extraction.
Triton's patented triple-bladed drum achieves 50% more cuts with three ultra-wide 7" blades, which plane at 45,000 cuts per minute, leaving a seriously smooth finish. A 10-position dial on the front shoe adjusts the planing depth up to 5/64" in a single pass.
