      A well thought out accessory

The fit has been the major problem for me; I can't seem to get the head harness to hold the hood in one position, that's distracting but I can live with it.

      Pleasantly surprised

It definitely takes getting use to as it is a bit top heavy. You have to find just the right tightness so it won't slip around and not too tight causing a headache. I tend to get a little glare off the shield, but it's not bad. The air moving through the shield is great keeping out dust and keeping you cool. I'm really enjoying not having to put eye,ear and lung protection on separately throughout the day. I am able to work longer especially routing and sanding jobs. The summer heat is here and it's nice not having drips fall off my face onto my projects. The motor is surprisingly quiet and I tend to forget there is a motor. I was hesitant to spend four bills for this, but I am so glad I did. I know I'm receiving excellent protection and this is a great addition to my wood shop.

      Comfortable

Works very well with eyeglasses once you figure out how to put it on without disturbing your glasses. Light and comfortable. Mostly use while sanding all woods on the lathe or turning spalted and exotic hardwoods. Battery life is excellent. My nostrils are very happy now.

      Awkward, yet functional...kinda, sorta

I have a love hate relationship with this device. It does a good job of keeping saw dust out of my eyes and nose. It keeps my face cool with a nice breeze. However, by design, it is top heavy and has to be tightened to your head to keep it from moving around. After a while, it gives me a headache because of the straps. The buyer needs to be aware that the face shield is not rated for anything above low impact protection. Saftey glasses are a must under the shield for adequate eye protection. I bought this for lathe work and (from my experience of taking a hit in a full polycarbonite facemask by a flying bowl blank) I do not think this thing will provide the protection that you might really want. Furthermore, the shield does not really cover my chin or throat. Getting this thing on and off with glasses on is a royal pain. Overall, as a fancy dust protector it works well. But, for $400, I would expect better face shielding and more comfort.

Best Air Filter I Have Used

Much more comfortable than wearing separate eye protectors, headphones and face masks; cooler too. I am pleased to be able to put on protection for all of these concerns with one appliance. I don't remember safety glasses ever keeping all of the dust out of my eyes this effectively.

I would buy this product again.

I found the Trend Air shield with ear defenders to be a good investment. It works just as it advertized. The only problem that I found, was the ear defenders, where difficult to get on, and they do not stay in place when you remove it from your head.

the ear protectors were stiff and I had fear of breaking them

      It really works

A little trickie to install over eye glasses. Can wear eye glasses with it. Turn fan on first then put it on--no fogging that way. Does a great job of keeping wood chip out of your face. Pricey but worth the money.

      I would buy this again

Use this in my garage workshop so that I don't breathe sawdust. Seems to work well and is not too noisy or heavy. It is a little awkward at first till you get use to it. When you move around you notice that there is something on your head- feel the weight of the motor and filters when tilting your head. One thing I did not like was installing the ear protectors. Was a pain to get them on, but once they are on they seem to work well.
