These HIGHPOINT® Die-Cast Zinc Alloy Hex Drive Inserts are for ready-to-assemble furniture, drawer pulls and wherever you need an easy-to-install a threaded insert. Large teeth give increased holding strength in particleboard and end-grain applications.

Pilot-hole measurements may vary due to the nature and grain of wood. We recommend a trial installation on a piece of scrap.

    Details a little off ....

    So, these do what they say they do. Worked great for a project I was working on for my wife, building her a new office desk. I used these to make the bottom half of the desk(drawer cabinets, aprons, and corner support) to be able to be broken down if we needed to move it at all in the future .... and also make it easier to get into her office for setup/assembly as well! Little correction needs to be done in the details section though ..... don't try to use an 11/16ths bit to drill a pilot hole in softwoods/plywood. If you do, you're gonna end up with a gapping hole that the insert drops right down in without touching the sides. I think this should be 11/32nd instead. I tried various bits out on a scrap of ply that I was going to be installing these in. I tried 5/16th to start and it caused the top to crack when seating all the way, then I moved up to a 3/8ths(next size I had on hand) and it worked much better, but the hole was just a touch too big and allowed the insert to wobble a little on install. Went to pick up an 11/32nd at Woodcraft and it worked like a charm!
