    Non-mortise hinge

We have used these before on the same product that is made once a year at this time.

    Nice clean look when installed

The hinges work great. Mounting hole diameter and placement is critical. It's difficult to find a Fostner bit or drill for 14mm hole.

    Nice hinge for boxes

I have been building some wooden boxes lately and have been using these barrell hinges as another method of installing the lids. They work fine so far but they are finnicky to install and require a 14mm bit to drill the mounting hole. I bought a 14mm forstner bit and for some reason it is a different size 14mm than the 14mm plug cutter I have is. Is not all 14mm supposed to be the same size? Otherwise, I am satisfied with these Soss hinges and will continue to buy more as needed.

    Unforgiving

I found this hinge required hammering to install and had to be perfectly aligned on the first try because it was too tight to adjust. I used a 14 mm drill bit as suggested.

One of the greatest inventions ever!

I have used these everywhere from yacht cabinetry, to wainscot in bars with secret tables, that folded out from some panels.

Don't forget to order 35/64" bit

The only problem is it requires the 14mm or 35/64" drill bit which they do mention but is difficult to find and a 1/2" drill bit won't do it.
