This new series of Scandi Plus Workbenches and accessories could only come from a world leader in workbenches. The bench top is constructed with full-length laminations of knot-free European beech. Solid beech is also used in the preassembled trestle frames. The bench top has two double rows of 3/4'' bench dog holes working from both vises, as well as dog holes in the trestle legs for a wide variety of clamping options. Thanks For The Memories, Geoff Brown!
Few vendors in Woodcraft’s history have been as colorful or as long-standing as Geoff Brown of Sjöbergs. In May [2016], Woodcraft held its 19th National Sales Conference and Vendor Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio, and Geoff Brown has attended every one of them. Geoff and Yvonne, his wife of 55 years, announced their semi-retirement at this year’s event.

Don't wait too long, excellent bench
There is already another review here by Bill W, I cannot say it better than he did. I kept telling myself I was going to make my own roubo-style workbench but years passed and it would have taken me months to build so I bought this Skobergs bench. My comments are more about assembly. Assembly was easy, took about an hour. You will need two people for the top. The use and care guide said to oil it so I oiled it with Danish Oil. If you are going to oil it do it before you assemble it! I cannot stress that enough. It was a PIA after it was assembled. Still, it is a beautiful thing. Don't keep waiting like I did.

Solid Bench
I've worked on many a plywood bench top for 40 years or more. During the last 10, I've gravitated more towards hand tools. I'm sorry I waited so long. The basic design has not changed in the last half century, because there was no need. This bench is solid, and holds the work so that you can focus on what you are doing. I should really be one of a hand tool woodworkers first purchases. The quality of the wood is excellent. Vises are pre-mounted, you just install the handles. They are not re-locatable. The vices are also smooth running, no play. Legs are pre-assembled, you just need to bolt on the stretchers. I also purchased the cabinet, and it's worth anyone's consideration. I was inclined to build my own, but generally pleased with the drawer/cabinet that is available (discounted when purchased together). Although workable, the knock-down style hardware used in the cabinet drawers was not a match to the precision of the wood components. I use brass dogs, this one comes with 4 plastic dogs. They seem sturdy, and would likely save a lot of sharpening time if a tool struck one. Lastly, I successfully used the "check stock" feature of the website, and found the bench in stock at the Springfield VA. location. After a phone call to verify, I showed up to purchase, and had the assistance of the staff to load it for me. ~No shipping charges, no waiting for a truck ~
