      needs some TLC

      I am very happy with the end product, but there were some significant problems that needed to be addressed to get there. #1. the welds on the tang needed to be filed down to create a smooth surface for affixing the scales. #2. there were small 'ellipses' where the bolsters met the tang, creating a need for filing to get to a 90 degree angle so the surface of the scale and the surface of the bolsters could be flush. #3. DON'T BELIEVE THE PATTERN THAT COMES WITH THE KIT. Each of the 4 sides was different; the pattern was off as much as 2 degrees, and we wasted lovely wood before we understood that we had to make our own patterns.
