Porter Cable® Model 382 5-Inch Random Orbit Sander is ideal for surface preparation for coating, smoothing seams and for removing paint, varnish and old coatings. The 1.9 Amp motor provides 12,000 OPM for maximum sanding speed on smooth finishes. This sander is lightweight and easy to use with a dual plane, counter-balanced fan that reduces user fatigue on longer jobs. The controlled finishing system maintains controllable pad speed to minimize gouging during startup and with a dust sealed switch that protects the sander from dust ingestion, you get a longer switch life and added durability.

Good durable product
The Porter Cable orbital and finishing sanders seem to outlast the other brands. With these hand held sanders in a shop setting do get allot of use. The do power up to speed quickly and they seem to be durable as the do get dropped and knocked off work surfaces.
