Argentinean Lignum Vitae

Nice Tools, Bad Packaging
I bought this kit in order to drill fairly precise holes along the center of some turned spindles. For that purpose, it works fine and I anticipate using other functions down the road. But the packaging was terrible. The pieces came in a cardboard box which had a tray with cutouts to hold the different parts. During transit, all the pieces escaped their cutouts which allowed each piece to roll around freely in the box, resulting in the bolt suffering damaged threads. Worse than that, everything was covered in or packed with grease. The operation manual came in a zip-lock bag, but the jostling tore part of that open so the manual had grease on it, too. The cardboard box and tray were left soaked with grease, leaving them unsuitable for storage of the various pieces. I just can't imagine what they were thinking.

Nova Hits A Home Run
This is the most versatile live centering system I own and I own a few. Strong, smooth & accurate. It would be nice to have a case for it. The cardboard box provided does not give much protection or storage convenience.

Great System, Bad Design
The shaft is too short to allow seating in a Powermatic and Delta Midi lathe. The Nova repair center said it will only fit Nova lathes and the company is working on the problem. I'v had mine for over a month and the problem hasn't been corrected. This product has great potential and I don't want to return it if a fix will be coming soon. Make sure it will fit your lathe before purchasing.
