Easy Wood Tools® Mid-Size Carbide Turning Tools are a reliable and easy-to-use option for woodturners looking to create high-quality projects on the lathe. The tools feature 14-inch, brightly finished, ergonomic maple handles that provide a comfortable grip and reduce fatigue. Say goodbye to sharpening as these cutters, which add up to 20 additional hours of turning from each of the four sides, are replaceable once dulled. Secondly, the cutter's unique design eliminates the need to 'find the bevel' when turning, making it convenient for woodworkers of all skill levels. Simply advance the tool slowly into the workpiece and begin cutting straight in, or sweep the cutter from left to right or right to left.

The Mid-Size series of woodturning tools allows for improved versatility, ideal for those smaller, more intricate turnings, such as pens, ornaments, and smaller bowls. The Easy Rougher™ removes bulk material fast and efficiently.

Does it feel like you spend more time sharpening than turning? Easy Wood Tools has designed a complete turning tool set that eliminates sharpening by employing four-sided replaceable carbide cutters. Thanks to the cutter’s unique design, there’s no bevel angle to figure out: the tool can cut from left to right, or right to left, even straight in, simply by keeping the tool flat on the rest and parallel with the floor.

    not so easy

I've been using the Easy Tools for nearly two years. There is a bit of a learning curve with all the Easy Tools, but I've not been that impressed with their "ease of use" advertisements. The main reason I've purchased so many of them is because of the replacement carbide cutters and their length options. I'm mobile for much of the year and don't want to drag my sharpening equipment along, therefore; when a tool gets dull, I either rotate the bit or replace it. You only need a couple of turning tools and lengths depending on your size projects. The basics for Easy Tools are simplicity and Easy Tool has applied that concept, however; the tools have a more limited application and you need to be wary of catches and gouges occurring, moreso with these tools than the HSS tools and their choice options. I've yet not enjoyed that clean cut as advertised. All my projects require significant sanding, even when the cutter is brand new. That translates into time and time is money. For that part, the various HSS tools do a better job and can be more easily navigated.

    Simple, but effective tool

I started using EWT when I first started turning they are great tools and they can take stock from square to finish, but now that I have started to use traditional tools I primarily use it as a scraper.

    Highly recommended . Excellent tool.

I have some turning tools that I got when I purchased my lathe. I can't believe the difference between them. Even when the other tools were new, they probably won't be as good new as this tool would be a year from now. Great item.

    Evolution is grand

Just got sold on it...gave it a whirl with some rosewood and had my cub scout den learning to turn with it. EASY to use and control. I was told this was the " next generation" of turning tools... if thats the case ... it is a huge step. You can waste a lot of money trying to save a few bucks, buy these and don't look back, save space in the shop from no sharpeners, sharpening jigs, and a plethora of tools... 4-5 of these and maybe a few specialty tools will likely do 99% of the turning you will ever need/want to do. I know there is something to be said for the talent and skills of using the old style tools. But there was with being fast and accurate with muskets too. These are amazing gonna go get the finisher today methinks !!

    Easy Rougher - Medium Size

Wow and Wow. The price initally scared me, however, I would not do without it now. The cutting and finishing capabilities of these are awesome. I bought the Round Finisher as well and am completely happy. Great for Mini, Small Medium and Big projects.

    Great tool. Easy to use.

I started using this tool right out of the box. There was no steep learning curve. Now I have to have the other tools in the series. Turners take noted. You spend your time turning not sharpening.

    C1 tool

Seems to rock on the tool rest and has a tendancy to catch when it does. Must keep tool rest clean of debri as you move the tool along.

One of the best designed turning tools

The only drawback I can find is you have to purchase a different tool for each blade, would rather be able to purchase interchangable blade for each level of tool, ie. large, medium, small, mini.

    Amazing tools

I'm new to woodturning, started about 2 months ago. The traditioinal tools were a little hard to get used to. I bought the Ci1 & Ci0 and now I am able to turn items way beyond my skill level simply because of these tools and do it with out any fear of the tool catching. They stay sharp forever (well almost) and cut like a hot knife through butter, yes thats right, i've been turning maple and lots of it and it still cuts like new. Handle is very comfortable and well designed. Do yourself a favor and just buy the tools, you will not regret the purchase!
