Kutzall Original tools feature SSG structured teeth, the most popular Kutzall coating. SSG teeth are very sharp, remove material rapidly, and do not load on most materials. This tool cuts with many randomly-positioned teeth working simultaneously. It has a smooth cutting action and is very easy to control which makes it ideal for hand-held operations. It cuts with very little head, and leaves a smooth surface ready for final finish. The needle sharp points of tungsten carbide can be "dressed", just like a grinding wheel, to give an even smoother surface finish. The grit coating is impact-resistant with outstanding wear life on the most punishing applications. This tool is excellent for grinding fiberglass and similar composites, working on soft tile and masonry or carving soft stone. Maximum RPM 28-30,000.

      well worth buying

This is a great bit for quickly roughing out the hollow in wooden spoons. I have used it about 10 times and it is still sharp without any indication of wear. I love it.

Used one of these for nearly 30 years

I've used the same model of Kutzall carving burr for nearly 30 years and it was finally time to replace it. I used the new one yesterday while carving a Mandolin top and found it to be just as great as the one I bought and used for all those years. I've used this model of burr for years in wildfowl carving and the making of musical instruments. I've also used many other Kutzall burs over the years and as far as I'm concerned they can not be beat for rapid wood removal!!
