    Details

General Finishes® High Performance polyurethane finishes are a unique hybrid of urethane and acrylic technology. The specialized urethane modification provides the superior toughness, durability, and water resistance necessary for high wear surfaces such as tables and cabinets. HP (High Performance) is formulated to resist foaming, prevent sagging and resist running like ordinary water based finishes. This finish contains all the consumer-friendly characteristics of a PolyAcrylic Blend including being non-yellowing and offering easy water cleanup. In addition, HP is stabilized with UV absorbers to maximize its performance and afford protection to the stains, paints, and wood underneath. High Performance is a fast drying, low odor, non-flammable alternative to conventional lacquers. It is suitable for interior woodwork, case goods, furniture, and cabinets. The free dry time is only 15 minutes with 2-4 hours between coats, which means you can finish a project in short order.

    Metalshelf

I was contemplating how to build a strong, sturdy storage cabinet to hold my finishes.  I did not want a metal cabinet but wanted the adjustability of a metal cabinet’s shelves, as well as a surface on the shelves that could be cleaned easier than wooden shelves.

      Desk for neighbor

Used this a few times and most recently on a desk I am building for a neighbor. I applied 3 coats on all surfaces with light sanding in between. For the desk top, I applied a 4th coat to add a bit of durability. I used a high quality finish bristle brush from Purely for application and it came out beautiful with no brush marks. This varnish does not have an odor so it works out real well indoors or in an attached garage environment. Another point is, I mistakenly left the brush out overnight without cleaning. I used acetone on the brush and it cleaned up like new. Will continue to use this product

      Great Product

Tested other water based finish from big box store and this product beats it hands down. I roller it on with a foam roller, the stuff drys quickly so the roller worked best for me. I have had to thin a few cans as it came too thick from the factory. The stuff cures so quickly I am able to complete a project in one day. Roll on finish, wait an hour or two, lightly sand smooth, roll on next coat, wait an hour or two, lightly sand and put last coat on. I have used about 3 gallons of this product this last summer and 3 coats seems to be the magic number. But when you can sand it in two hours it is no problem. I finished a large coffee table with it and was able to polish the last coat after waiting over night curing. It would take days for oil based to cure enough for that. It costs a lot more, but you really get what you pay for in this product.

      Works great as advertised.

Used on my 3rd semi-big project. This stuff works just as well as the brands generally available at the big box stores.
