especially good for the beginner
The tool is used for hobby wood turning-on mostly small items, bowls candle holders, pin trays, etc , on a variety of woods. I love the way the cutter stays very sharp for a good deal of woodworking. The control of the cutter afforded by the handle sizing is a strong plus for me.

Oh, what a difference this makes....
This tool is an outstanding hollower. Built very strudy and easy to control. Very little sanding is required after cutting inside the form.

Ci3-Easy Hollower #5
I bought this tool because I was tired of ineffective HSS tools, and getting beat up by the HSS tools that are on the market now for hollowing small wood vessels on the lathe. Within minutes of first use I could tell this was head and shoulders above the Sorby style of HSS hollowing tools out there. My first piece of wood that I used this on was a piece of Big Leaf Maple, it cut eaisly into the wood and hollowed faster and easier then I had ever done before. The one con I would have to say is that if you do get a catch with this tool, it will most likely be catastrophic in nature. Now in all fairness this could be all on me as I have only been useing this tool a short time, and I constantly get catchs with all of my HSS hollowers, so I am hoping the chances of geting catchs will go down as I get more experience with this tool.

Great "tool" for hollowing projects.
Turning is fun to begin with,this tool makes it even more fun. Very well engineered and built. Just made a vase from a dried up cherry burl, this tool saved the day and made me money.
