I like it! I think this is great for light turning work like pens, bottle stoppers, ice cream/pizza handles, etc.
I saw the poor reviews here, and much better ones elsewhere. So I bought it. Give it a try. I like it for my needs in small turning projects. It is light weight, which great for keeping cool in summer. That may also make the material a little delicate and prone to tears. Don’t be twirling your lathe chisels like in the movie ‘Cocktail’. You might get a tear or two. I don’t yet know how delicate the fabric is. It could be bullet proof. Your needs will depend on the kind of turning you do. If you do big heavy stuff . . . get a leather apron. The zipper in this seems to be heavy duty enough. The material is light weight, so do be a little delicate with how you handle it. You can’t yank it on and off like you would your jacket. Be careful with the zipper going up and down as it can snag in some of the loose flaps that help protect you. I think this is great for light turning work like pens, bottle stoppers, ice cream/pizza handles, etc.
Flimsy zipper failed after less than 10 uses
When it works, it's great. But this item has a very light duty zipper. In my case, it worked fine for about three sessions, became problematical after another three or four uses, and then utterly useless when the zipper complete failed.
