    Leaks dust, needs modification

I have several of these because I wanted a sturdy blast gate, which they are. However they let dust leak out, requiring constant cleanup and loss of suction. The problem is that the metal slide is too thin for the slot. Fortunately, they can be disassembled and the sliding gate can be replaced. I had some styrene sheets that were the correct thickness and a hole saw made the needed opening. Now the slide is a friction fit so no need for the locking screw and no more dust leaks with better suction at the tools.

    Useless

When gate is opened it leaves a very large gap at the bottom end of the housing. Almost 20% of the suction is lost.

Gate won't close all the way..

I had to gring the gate so that it would close all the way. Now they are working fine.

A vast improvement over ABS blast gates

The anti clog design eliminates all the time I spent clearing my ABS gates. I switched all my 4" gates out months ago and was pleased to finally find a 2 1/2" aluminum gate.

    Does the Job

The blast gate is well made with an aluminum body and sheet metal slide. The flanges fit 2-1/2" hoses and used with a metal hose clamp seal very well. The edges of the slide are slightly sharp, but a couple of minutes with a file cured that issue.
