Avoid
Watch YouTube videos on this separator. It is prone to clogging. Also, does not "separate" as much as others. Nice idea, just poor design.

Jet Cyclone Separation
Picked this up from Woodcraft of Virginia Beach. Works great. Hooked it up to a 1.75 HP dust collector and it catches everything from the table saw, band saw, jointer, and Dewalt 735. Filled it twice and my bag level has not moved. So much easier.

Get to test online return policy
I never write reviews but this thing is junk. The only thing it separates isoney from your wallet. After at least a gallon of different types of dust from direct hose pick up out of my shop vac seperartor bucket to hooked up to a bench top thickness planer there is maybe an ounce of two of small to smaller particles in the seperartor drum.

Chokes when ripping lumber
Apparently my first review was to long and critical to be published. Works fine on cross cut miter saw dust. Worthless when you are ripping lumber. The threads of lumber when ripping are to long and clog up the vanes. Buyer beware...and make sure you keep the original box and packing material or you cannot return.

Jet dust separator
Works fine for a table saw , Clogs every 5 min. when using a small planer.should be 1/2 the price !!

Nice looking unit but not the best Item made by Jet
I have no idea where Jet got his tests done. This one is a total failure. Drop the cfm worst than the Oneida and the worst part... only catch half of the dust and chips... I posted a video on youtube. Jet should put down its reviews and come clean on this one

Great!
Love this cyclone separator, it is saving a ton on bags and keeping the vacuum pressure strong by not clogging the filter. I've attached it to a Jet - Vortex Cone Dust Collector, 1.5HP 1PH 115/230V, 2-Micron Canister Kit, Model DC-1100VX-CK.

It works great - as long as you have a dedicated plan
I came across the new separator on the market and based on dimensions it would fit underneath the extension wing on my table saw. My original DC is a Jet cyclone and found I hit the filter constantly with sheet goods. So I improvised a 55gal drum and some 90º elbows. It worked a treat (for not hitting it), and the separation was pretty spot on after a few tries with intake/exhaust angles - 6 months of use and all that ended up in the dust bag post impeller was about 1-1.2gal of super fine dust (while about 30gal of dust was in the shop made barrel). I got the new Jet toy at christmas time and ecstatic that it fit under the wing, reducing the footprint of my saw and outfeed / workbench combo. However, being as it's only Jan 7th, after two weeks of use, I just emptied about 2.5 gallons of dust out of the bag, while around 4 gallons remains in the bin. I did a few tests scooping handfuls from the saw cabinet into the duct, and found about half went straight past the swirl of death and into the dust bag. So, does it work, and is it worth the price? Well, if more floor space and less tripping hazards are fundamental, then yes, it works. It doesn't care much (or at all) for running the planer ductwork through it (probably too much static built up), and I wouldn't try to run much over 800cfm through it without accepting blow-by in the design. I suspect it's down to a simple equation of suspended material vs time between intake / exhaust side. My shopmade barrel worked great for separation and limited pressure drop, but it's huge, required a lot more flex hose, etc. The jet is great for smaller particles (as long as the speed is also kept down) - but really that's down to preference and how much you really want separated between container / filter. I'll most likely modify the design by adding some sort of interruption, or fit a weaker DC (currently using a PSI 850cfm model, w.c. rating unknown). But for now, not having to walk around the behemoth, or risk cutting the flex hose with lumber, this little addition works well, just don't expect perfect results compared to larger units with a longer suspension time. Reminds me of a fitting old adage - "there's no replacement for displacement."

Chokes on larger debris
Not a lot of reviews out there but took a shot on this due to the compact size. Initial impressions were good - works as well as any separator for small dust but starts to choke on debris larger than "dust"... Shavings bigger than a dime or nickel catch and accumulate on the turning vanes of the inlet and requires disassembly of the hose/fittings or unscrewing inlet from the separator assembly to fish out the blockages. For the dad-jokers out there, I understand that it's a collector of dust, not a shop vac, but I think it's reasonable to handle larger debris on occasion. 2 stars: 1 for the size and form factor and the 2nd for saving the impeller on my dust collector from harmful debris

The designers nailed this one
I was skeptical, no reviews, called Jet and it was too new to get much info, although the person did inspire confidence. I bought it anyway and love it. The debris behaves just as advertised and I won't have to empty that dustbag near as often, which I hate doing. I bought the canister-version and am glad; totally worth it for rigidity, rolling around easily, handle for emptying, window to see fill-level, seal on lid, seal between separator and lid. Highly recommend this product. I have a 2HP 240V Jet Dust Collector connected to it.
