      Fun little project!

These were a simple set of plans and hardware. There were limited major tools required - table saw, router table, drill press. As a beginner in woodworking, I try to limit my exposure to exotic tools and techniques. Everything thing here was straight forward and the problems I had were due to my limited skills. The only shortcoming of the kit was the fake key - it is pot-metal and fell apart trying to screw it into a predrilled hole. It ws promtly replaced, but it would be a good idea to slightly over-drill and glue in place. Otherwise, I had fun and the wife is very pleased!

      Poor Plans to Hardware Package

The Pros are; After altering the print and pieces to accomadate the hardware you might end up with a decent clock. The Cons are; The prints were wrong for the bale handle had to redrill to bigger diameter. The fake key was to most terrible piece of hardware I have ever seen. I broke all 4 of them and one of the hardware packages was missing parts. After contacting Woodcraft about this, they shipped me 4 more keys and bezels, I broke two of them again and I'm not a beginner woodworker. I was going to give them out as xmas presents and still have two of them. I'm waiting for Woodcraft to send me 4 more fakekeys. They should make the keys a little more robust in my opinion. If you purchase this be careful with the keys since they are of "white metal" and break with little pressure. I would not recomend this for the beginner.

      Poor quality

The plastic sleeve on the clock movement breaks easily. The mock key is made of cheap, easily broken die cast metal. Chime is not very loud so be sure to cut hole in clock's back panel.

      Great Clock

Simply stated, this is a nice clock. Good looks, works well, love the chimes. It is a great gift to give of yourself. My first one has small imperfections but I like to call them being unique. Its me built into the clock and no two will be exactly alike. My wife and I are building 4 for Christmas gifts this year to give to our friends.
