Bates Glue Release
Bates Glue Release might be the best kept secret in woodworking. Bates is a temporary, water-based barrier coating that prevents adhesives and resins from sticking to clamps, machinery, benches and even spray booths. It also decreases friction; so what is it? It’s a water-based emulsion...
It also decreases friction; so what is it? It’s a water-based emulsion of wax and oil (no silicone) that is light enough to be applied by spray bottle, and you can also brush and roll it on. How long will it last? We think one application a month will do most weekend warriors. Apply as needed if you find you need more.
Water-based emulsion of wax and oil
Easy to apply
Prevents adhesives and finishes from sticking to equipment
Reduces friction on machinery
Economical and works well
I use it all the time on anything that comes in contact with glue during construction. Glue simply peels off, and it does not cause any problems when finishing.
