This RH Preyda Arkansas Waterstone – a 1000/6000 combo stone – is a good choice for doing both coarser preliminary work and fine work leading to a higher grit for final polishing. Just remember to thoroughly clean the coarse grit from the stone when moving to the higher grit. Stone measures 8" x 3" x 1" and, like traditional waterstones, requires soaking prior to use. Stone comes in a durable base that helps to minimize slipping in use.
Introducing RH Preyda Arkansas Waterstones. Traditionally, Novaculite or Arkansas Stones are cut from the earth, and the material is graded for hardness/density and cut into usable shapes. What is unusable is returned to the earth – still unusable except as fill. RH Preyda had a different vision: take the UNUSABLE and crush it, grade it, mix it up into mud, form bricks, and fire it to make Arkansas Waterstones.
Stones come in a range of grits from 400 to 8000 grit (a 10,000 grit is promised soon).
