Woodcraft and General International introduces the NEW i-Carver, model #40-913 M1 CNC carving machine technology and woodworking into your shop or school with an affordable price tag of $2099.99. Simply combining computer numerical control (CNC) technology with computer design software (I-Picture), using imported images (JPG, GIF, TIF, PNG, BMP) and converting grey scale for the cutting depth, a beginner or advanced woodworker will immediately have the ability to create fine carvings of any type. What takes much time to typically create fixtures and jigs for some projects, can now be easily accomplished with this new tabletop i-Carver machine. This unit cuts various materials using a single high speed cutter size of up to a 1/2″ diameter with a 1/4″ diameter shank.
General International‘s director of marketing, Steve Stevenson recently visited Woodcraft in Parkersburg, West Virginia to demonstrate and teach the i-Carver’s capabilities. Using the converted gray scale graphic files for the best result of depth and detail profiles, the CNC i-Carver uses the included i-Picture software to program and cut details in the materials automatically. Just set your X,Y and Z coordinates and you’re on your way to an expert carving masterpiece.
The i-Carver cuts explicit details perfectly from any image to any wood, acrylic or plastic surface. It’s like a 3D printer on steroids, only better! Take a look at this example
