Tape Rule Hangar

I’ve managed to accumulate quite a few tape rules in my shop over the years, which tended to pile up on shelves or get lost in the general clutter of the shop. To solve the problem, I screwed a length of 18"-thick × 1"-wide flat steel bar to a couple of 2"-thick stand-off blocks fastened to the front of an open cabinet to serve as a hanger for the tapes. Now the tapes are all organized in one place, and I can immediately identify which one I need for the job at hand. As an added benefit, the bar provides a magnet-friendly surface from which to hang shop drawings and notes.
