Finishing a WoodRiver Knife Kit
Comments (0)The WoodRiver Drop Point Skinner Knife Kit is more of an outdoorsy knife kit so I decided to try out the Charcoal Dymalux Knife Scales. It was my first time using the Dymalux and no wonder it's water/heat resistant, it's hard stuff! I typically like to shape my handles with handtools like the Kutzall Hand Rasps you see in a couple of the clips because I feel you have more control but I couldn't with this stuff. Well not AND get the video done on time, so I resorted to the belt sanders. After that things went much more smoothly. I finished with a coat of Boiled Linseed Oil but I'm told the Dymalux doesn't need a finish and you can just polish it up the grits.
