with Tommy Mac

Woodcraft, the industry leader in providing a wide variety of top quality woodworking products, educational opportunities and one-on-one guidance to woodworkers of all skill levels, today announced that they are the exclusive corporate sponsor of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac, a new public television program produced by WGBH Boston.

Parkersburg, WV (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 1, 2010 -- Woodcraft, the industry leader in providing a wide variety of top quality woodworking products, educational opportunities and one-on-one guidance to woodworkers of all skill levels, today announced that they are the exclusive corporate sponsor of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac, a new public television program produced by WGBH Boston.

Jeff Forbes, president of Woodcraft Supply, LLC, said, “The Woodcraft family is excited to be the premier sponsor of Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac. We believe Tommy is ushering in a fresh, new age for woodworking programming, and this pairs perfectly with our objective to stay in front of new, as well as experienced, woodworkers. WGBH Boston’s leadership in the development and production of how-to programming is unmatched, and we look forward to a successful partnership.”

WGBH Boston, the same public television company that developed how-to television with Julia Child, This Old House, The Victory Garden and The New Yankee Workshop, will produce Rough Cut. The show will be distributed by American Public Television.

The instructional show invites viewers into the workshop of Boston native and fine furniture maker Tommy MacDonald, a graduate of the famed Boston-based North Bennet Street School. Thirteen innovative episodes follow Tommy as he travels to historical New England landmarks to gain design inspiration and then returns to his workshop to demonstrate the steps and techniques it takes to create comprehensive woodworking projects.

In addition to providing detailed project instructions to his audience, Tommy shares his skills and best practices, giving the opportunity for anyone with an interest in woodworking to not only learn the basics but also excel at the craft. For those more experienced in woodworking, Tommy offers more advanced tips and techniques by showcasing his more complex projects.

Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac is scheduled to premiere nationally on public television stations in October 2010 and will also air on CREATE, public television’s digital cable channel.
