The General is a feature packed lathe has a 12" diameter capacity over the bed and a 3/4 Hp motor. The pivoting headstock accomodates 16 5/8" diameter bowls and platters over the toolrest when mounted on the outboard platform. The total swing over the outboard platform is a whopping 19 1/4". That's capacity you'd expect to find only on lathes costing twice as much.
