The bandsaw may be the most versatile player in the workshop. It can rip, resaw, crosscut, and execute all kinds of curved work, including cabriole legs, circles, arcs, and serpentine drawer fronts. Outfitted with an appropriate blade, it can chew through thick stock to rough-out parts, fine-saw joinery like tenons and dovetails, and even do detailed scrollwork. Let us show you some simple steps to put your saw in top form.

Based on the idea of “learning by doing”, we provide a wide range of hands-on woodworking classes for men and women of all skill levels.
Classes are conducted in a variety of formats to suit the unique needs of our students. They include one or two day weekend classes, series classes that meet one or two nights per week for 4 to 12 weeks, week-long intensive classes and more.
Our nationally known staff of instructors possess not only a wide variety of skills and interests but also an intense passion for the subject they are teaching is common to them all. Whether it is a woodturning class with Al Czellecz, a furniture making class with the school’s director, Bob Van Dyke, or a class on cabriole legs with Phil Lowe, students are assured of thoroughly learning the skills in a relaxed hands-on atmosphere.
