In February, Carol and I will celebrate our sixth year of operating the Dublin Woodcraft store. We are especially grateful that we made it through the 2009 financial doldrums thanks to your support.
We want to share our good fortune with you. From February 1st through the 14th, we invite you to celebrate with us. Turn For Troops An Outstanding Success
Congratulations and THANK YOU woodturners! This year, you contributed over 950 "Turn For Troops" pens to our men and women in the military. Pens were made by our staff, customers, and local middle- and high-school students. Folks also made pens in our free pen turning classes in November and on the weekend before Veterans Day.
We want to especially thank Mr. Shipman's Castro Valley High School woodworking students, who, made over 350 pens (and still turning). We would also like to thank the Bay Area Woodturners (BAWA) who contributed more than 400 pens. A special thanks to Demi and Jeff tanner who coordinated the efforts of BAWA, helped Mr. Shipman's students learn turning techniques, AND prepared pen blanks/kits which we handed out to customers at the store. Also, a big thanks to Mary Sites who helped assemble kits, turned pens, and helped us prepare them for shipment. We couldn't have done it without everyone's help.
There are military men and women here and abroad who appreciate your efforts and will have a better holiday knowing that they have your support.
