The "BIG" tools - even though we may not have them displayed on our showroom floor, we are able to get you 'the bigger tools' from our vendors (e.g., 20" bandsaws, 12" tablesaws, and so forth).  We are also able to now offer you the opportunity to purchase metal-working equipment, such as the Wilton brand.  Talk to Ron, Angela, Eli or Sandy, if you're interested in getting a free quote.

CNC Machines - Speaking of power tools, we are bringing in one of General International's CNC machines.  We're in the process of arranging for some FREE demos, as well as a couple of  2-hour introductory sessions that will go into a bit more detail.  If you would be interested in attending one of these intro sessions, drop us an e-mail at woodcraft307@eschelon.com and we'll get you on a notification list.  At this moment, we have tentative dates set for mid-September.  We should have firm dates and times shortly, so we'll post the information here on our homepage for your reference.  Check back.
Further, we're planning a full one-day session specially targeted to woodshop educators, that will not only introduce you to the CNC machine and provide an overview of the software, but will also cover some of our newer power tools.  Again, we're looking to do this mid-September, so drop us an e-mail (woodcraft307@eschelon.com) if you're interested and provide us with your school, and school's address.  Thanks!

New Classes Coming to Seattle Woodcraft:

  • We are pleased to announce that your hand-tool coach, and our good friend, Rob Cosman, will be returning to Seattle Woodcraft in February, 2011 (the 17th, 18th & 19th).  One of the exciting things about his visit is that on Saturday, the 19th we will have a FREE DEMO, open to everyone, showcasing how Rob turns 'an ol' Stanley' hand plane into a tool that planes like the higher-end models.  You will be amazed!
  • New "Jigs and Fixtures" class with Jerry Bass.
  • Tom Turgeon, from Boise, will be with us to teach bow-making classes in 2011.  See the article he wrote in the new issue of Woodcraft Magazine.
  • We are further pleased to announce that Greene & Greene-style furniture craftsman, Darrell Peart, will be with us - also in 2011.
Keep on top of all of our classes by clicking on the "classes" link on our homepage.  If you have ideas for classes, simply pass them along to us at:  woodcraft307@eschelon.com.  Please put "ATTN George" in the subject line.  Thank you for your thoughts and ideas!

Do You Know About Our Weekly E-Mail Newsletter?

Please make sure you are signed-up to get the "Seattle" Woodcraft version of our e-mail newsletter.  How would you know which version you are now getting?  The Seattle version always starts with:  "Dear Friend of Seattle Woodcraft" and usually ends with "Helping You Make Wood Work".   You can change your sign-up at any time for the Seattle version; just go to woodcraft.com or woodcraftnews.com page and "update your subscription by indicating that you live close to the 'Seattle' Woodcraft store and would like to be notified of local in-store events and specials."  Make sure you have any spam filters set to accept e-mail from woodcraftnews.com.
