This is our most popular woodworking class and for good reason, besides covering all the basic skills necessary to successfully build a finely designed cabinet, students are often surprised to discover how much emphasis is placed on accuracy and the knowledge presented which specifically addresses the construction techniques involved when utilizing "natural wood" in cabinet making. Wood movement, milling and planning will be discussed together with the use of various milling tools. Man made products, advantages and disadvantages of their use, are discussed in a review of the anatomy of a commercial cabinet. Hardware options are also considered. Each student will construct a wall cabinet with a flat panel, inset door and a drawer using dado and rabbet joints. This is a two-day course and it fills quickly!
