Just getting started in woodworking or interested in becoming a more confident woodworker? This two day class will teach you how! This hands-on class will introduce you to all the various techniques and how to set up and use a variety of woodworking machines, including the table saw, jointer, planer, stationary sanders and router table. You will make a small wall shelf with a drawer and two shelves using the above described tools.

Basic Bowl Turning

Saturday, May 25, 9 AM - 4 PM

This class is designed to teach turners fundamental techniques and safety involved in turning a wooden bowl. The instructor will provide the knowledge of tools, equipment, safety, and basic steps involved in turning. Students will learn how to choose the right wood to run, the preparation of the blank for turning, the different techniques of tool usage, the sanding techniques to achieve a smooth and polished bowl. Basic Cutting Board Class

Saturday, June 1, 9 AM - 4 PM

Students will be using Walnut, Hard Maple, Cherry, and Purpleheart to make a 12" x 15" cutting board. They will be learning woodworking techniques on a Powermatic planer, Jet drum sander, and Sawstop table saw and router table. Students will also learn the different types of cutting boards, ideal wood species for the cutting board, and different techniques on how to finish cutting boards.

Bandsaw Tuning And Resawing

Wednesday, June 12, 5:30 PM - 8 PM

Tuning and adjustments are crucial to get optimal performance out of your bandsaw. Afterwards cutting thin veneers are possible. This class will cover both the tuning and resawing process, as well as other related topics

Stair Step End Grain Cutting Board

Saturday, July 20, 9 AM - 5 PM

In this hands-on class, students will learn how to create a stunning stair step end grain cutting board using a bandsaw. Throughout the class, students will be guided through the process of using a bandsaw to make all the cuts, gluing techniques, pattern alignment, flattening, and finishing techniques allowing participants to add a protective and food-safe coating to their cutting boards. By the end of the class, students will have gained valuable skills in woodworking and will take home their own custom-made stair step end grain cutting board, ready to use and display in their kitchen.
