CNC User Group Meeting

And - yes – one person from our audience will use a hot dog to demonstrate the braking system!

Children's Toy Workshop
Saturday, October 27, 10 AM - 3 PM

For over 10 years Woodcraft of Toledo has sponsored and promoted a holiday Toys for Kids event. This year we are inviting Children ages 7 to 17 to come in and assemble two toys -- one for themselves and one to donate to the Toys for Kids campaign. Several patterns will be available to choose from. Come in and help us make this a better Christmas for those less fortunate. All supplies are donated by Woodcraft of Toledo. No reservations required.

Carving A Celtic Knot (by Hand And CNC)
Saturday, November 3, 1 PM - 2 PM

Watch as we use two different methods to carve a Celtic Knot and learn the pros and cons of the methods. One will be carved by hand and the other with a CNC. It's not a race – just two unique ways to carve.

Turning For The Troops
Saturday, November 10, 10 AM - 4 PM

Stop in to turn a pen to be sent to our service men and women overseas. An average of 30-60 minutes is all it takes to turn a pen. No experience needed; all supplies are donated.If you cannot attend our event, turn one or more pens at home, bring them into Woodcraft by Saturday (Nov 10), and we will give you a pen kit in return (item #123052). Please turn only the Slimline pens so they fit in a soldier's sleeve pocket.

Scroll Saws

The scroll saw is one of the most versatile on the market – and at a reasonable price. With the right blade, you can use the scroll saw for pattern work, fret work, and intarsia. Spend an hour and learn some of the capabilities and features of this tool.

Scratching your head thinking of a small project to make as a gift? Have you checked out our small project supplies area for pen kits, knife kits, bottle stoppers, wheels, and so much more? We will spend a bit of time showing you how quickly you can make a beautiful item out of small kits, scrap wood, cut offs, or other items you have. Bring questions!

Turning An Offset Christmas Tree

'Tis the season! Come in and watch how you can turn an offset Christmas tree. They make great gifts and with a little practice you'll be making them yourself this holiday!

Scroll Saw Christmas Ornaments

Scroll saws trace back to the 16th century with the first blade made by a German clockmaker. Learn how quickly and easily you can create Christmas ornaments with the use of a scroll saw. They can be very simple or very complicated and as elegant as you wish!  A limited number of ornaments will be given away during the demo.

Hardware How-To: Drawer Slide Installation
Saturday, January 12, 1 PM - 2 PM

Installing drawer slides can be very intimidating! How do you get the hardware on the cabinet side to line up perfectly with the hardware on the drawers? ALSO, getting them level and evenly spaced can be tricky. We will teach you a few tricks for better installation with jigs and proven techniques.

Dovetail Jigs
Saturday, January 19, 1 PM - 2 PM

A dovetail jig is a specialized woodworking accessory for to make dovetail joints faster and more accurately than can be done by hand. Very similar to a template in function, a dovetail jig provides a guide against which a woodworker can move a cutting tool, such as a saw or a router. Come in and see the Dovetail Jigs available at Woodcraft and how they function.

Guest Demonstrator: Chad Stanton
Saturday, January 26, 11 AM - 3 PM

Chad Stanton, host of "What are your doing", "Why I Make", "Wood Choppin' Time" and "Just Plane Board" is our guest demonstrator. Come in and see what he has in store for us this year. We know Chad always has excellent, creative ideas!
