    This threadbox and tap, for cutting external and internal threads in wood, is useful for making clamps, jigs, fixtures, knockdown furniture, toys, and novelties. Although traditional in design, modern technology and metallurgical advances have improved the traditional threadbox and tap and perfected its components. Hardwood threadbox with turned handles has an aluminum insert to prevent wear and extend the tool life. Steel tap is machined to close tolerances and designed to allow easy chip clearance. The resulting wood thread is both tight fitting and strong. Includes threadbox, regular tap and instructions.

      Outstanding results the first time!

      I have only used the product on hard maple and walnut, but it was a joy to use. It took some considerable effort to turn out an 18" screw, but produced an outstanding result on the first try!

      Wood thread disappointment

      Directions said tool is set at factory. The threads it creates are very shallow. Maybe I can adjust it but out od the box performance was disappointing.

      Good and Reliable Construction

      I used Woodthreading Kit, to complete my gun rack project. It would not work without it.

      Some tools are just fun

      I was very pleased by how easily this tool cut threads in a wooden dowel. The threads were fairly clean and resulted in a strong fit.
