Tray inserts pull up so a leg can be unfolded to create an easel for better display of your creations. The felt covered insert trays allow for 36 pens or pencils (18 per tray) to be held securely in place by a dual row of elastic cord.

Woodcraft Draws Inspiration from Customers for New Pen Carry/Display Case
“Woodcraft customers’ feedback led to a redesign of our pen case,” product development manager Ben Bice said. “They asked for more flexibility, specifically the ability to lie flat. We took the customer suggestions and went above and beyond.”

Disappointed
First, I will start that this was a bit over $50 - which set my expectations high. The 1st thing I notice taking it out of the box, is that the hinges are 'slip', and the top half of the case falls off just for looking at it sideways. Next was that the inner pieces on each side are thin fluff covered plastic, and are not secured at all into the case. So. once you wrestle the 2 pins back together to re-assemble the case, you then have to 'quick' fold the halves together and hope that one side doesnt tip out and make you re-do it. This could have been well constructed, with solid foam/plastic liners that were attached, but the wood river brand really seems like its racing to the bottom of cost cutting. Between this and the "quality" of the latest expensive mesh sandpaper pack, I will no longer be purchasing wood river gear.
