Exactly what I needed
Finally have a shop and built my first real bench. This was a perfect addition to my build! Only issue is my own fault from not ordering the quick release. I meant to but didn't pay close enough attention. Used it anyway and works perfectly and quite easy to set up!

Not very good at all
I've installed this on a bench I'm currently building. The bench top is a solid 4", with a 1" 3/4 x 8" hard maple apron (in other words, the bench itself is rock solid). This vise is not rigid enough to hold boards securely. The jaw will rack both horizontally and vertically, meaning that only a single edge of the jaw face is ever in contact with the board. This results in very poor holding. As an example; when cutting dovetails the end of the board will vibrate even if the piece is only 3 inches from the top of the jaw face. For the price, this is a very low quality vise and I would not recommend it at all.

Works great and very rugged
Installed it on my work bench and works as I expected. I also noticed that there is a small hole to oil the screw, a great plus because by oiling the screw, it will last a lifetime.

27 dollars tto much
The near perfect twin of this vice 'elsewhere' for $27 less. I called my local woodcraft guy and its 'just the way it is' I returned two of these for refund. And sadly bought from 'elsewhere'. I would keep my money local for 8-12 dollars but 27 was too much.

great vice for the money
I purchased this vice at least 10 years ago and have been using it professionally ever since. I have broken many cheap vices over the years and now only buy the top of the line vices. This vice has held up well and preforms as it should.
