    good starter

The good: a pretty good balance and blade thickness. Price is cheaper, which makes it a good blade to start on. Edge starts out sharp, doesn't have a quality feel to it but not bad for the price. Two things I'm not a fan of: 1) Pins. They were inconsistent lengths with non-flat ends. They could have been a bit long to allow for modifications. 2) Sheath. Once a handle is crafted, especially if you allow the wood to cover the finger guard, the sheath is unusable. The strap that buckles is too short. I will likely buy another Woodriver blade for my second attempt at making a knife, then move on to some better blades. All-in-all, blade and handle look and feel good in hand. I'm happy with the purchase.

    Terrible... just terrible

Bought this knife kit with high hope that it would be easy and turn out nice, it has a nice style and a nice feel but the design is terrible. Near the end of this project is when I realized how poor quality the blade of this knife Is. It comes sharp but it does not hold an edge for long and chips extremely easily on top of that after I attached my handle to the blade I realized it dosent fit in the leather sheath which makes it practically useless it wont even fit half of the handle! At first glance this looks like a good starter project or a good side project to do but quality wise it's just a waste of money.

    Nice beginner kit knife

After replacing the handle on an old hatchet I decided I could Finish a knife...The knife is nicely finished and has a good shape of medium size for a camp knife. I selected brown micarda as the handle material and used a 1x30 belt sander to do most of the shaping. The three steel pins are just long enough to use with thin scales. Liked it as a hobby so much I ordered another and a skinner as well..

Decent knife kit/Leather sheath doesn't fit

This is my first try at making scales for a knife. I used Kingwood and am pleased with how well it all went together. It is a nicely sized knife and fits well in my hand. The only shortcoming I have is with the sheath. The strap is very short and will not go around the handle rendering it useless. Too bad, its a nice sheath. I don't think my handle is too large, it fits perfectly in my hand. Just think the strap is short. Otherwise, I would purchase again.
