Create a custom vegetable peeler using your favorite wood or mixed media to produce a one-of-a-kind dramatic effect. The WoodRiver® Ceramic Vegetable Peeler Turning Kit features a heavy-duty casting that holds the ultra-sharp peeler blade made from zirconium oxide ceramic, which is second only to diamonds in hardness while remaining sharper longer than any steel.

Features:
  • Stays sharper longer than steel
  • Ceramic blade will not react with food
  • Heavy-duty construction
What's Needed:
  • 3/4" x 3/4" x 5" blank
  • 7/32" Drill Bit
  • Turning Mandrel
Product Notes:
  • Skill Level: This is a great kit for beginners and professional alike.
  • To assemble: using a 3/4" x 3/4" x 5 blank, bore a 1/4"-diameter hole that measures 7/8" deep. Mount the blank between centers, turn to your desired profile, apply a finish of your choice, attach the peeler and begin peeling.

    Not sharp enough

Simple kit, straight forward directions, first time my wife used it she wanted to know if the blade could be sharpened? Not as sharp as her 5+ year old dollar store peeler. Quality of the kit is good, just not sharp enough.

A good product, but not spectacular

This product looks great from a distance and combines well with wood or acrylic. For food-safety reasons we tend to stick with acrylic, but to each his own. When you get up close with the product it looks a bit flimsy, though it's sturdier than it looks from what we can tell. Also, there are no replacement blades. This is a problem for us when clients who have purchased these come back to us asking for replacements.
