The heartwood contains striking bands of lighter and darker grain, while the golden-orange hue of this South American variety tends to remain over time. The wood is heavy, dense and stable with a fine to medium texture. While the hardness can make it challenging to work, it is surprisingly easy on cutting tools and turns well. It finishes beautifully and polishes to a deep, natural luster. Common uses include furniture, woodturning and fine specialty items. Slab measures 1-1/4" x 15" x 48-1/4" and is surfaced on both sides.

Features:

Deep golden orange

Polishes to a deep luster

Turns, glues, stains and finishes well

Native to Tropical America (West Indies, Central and South America)

Specifications:

Thickness: 1-1/4"

Width: 15"

Length: 48-1/4"

What's Included:

(1) Osage Orange Slab - 1-1/4" x 15" x 48-1/4"

Notes:

Wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike to start with, the same wood growing in different locales can vary greatly even though it is the same species.

Due to the nature of wood movement, shrinkage and expansion are possible.
