Inside the Mind of Madcarver
“It’s like a movie in my mind”—that is how Randall Stoner aka “Madcarver” of Orange County, California, pictures the dragons, trolls, ogres and a variety of otherworldly creatures as he brings them to life in his carvings. His unique style transports the viewer into a world of mystical imagination and storytelling far beyond the physical boundaries of a block of wood. Read more in this Woodworking Adventures Blog...

Not the best tool.
The 1/4 horse power is good. But I’ve replaced internal cable twice and am on my third hand piece. Right now the bits come out. Not sure to keep replacing or get something new.

KEEP EXTRA SHAFTS ON HAND!!!
My wife, bless her heart, gave this to me for Christmas a few years back. When it's working it's great. I try to be careful when using it, but the bit will occasionally snag, breaking or worse, twisting the inner cable. When the inner cable twists (it's basically a long heavy-duty spring) it unwinds and damages the outer sheath. Keep an extra cable (or 2) on hand, and maybe an outer sheath to be safe.

durability wanting
My wife gave me this tool as a gift, used less than one week total and the cable to handpiece gave out. I followed the instructions to keep sharp bends out of cable. Getting to a difficult area requiring a six inch bend; it heated up and broke. plenty of power with a weak transfer to handpiece, and I would not recommend it for for detail work requiring anything other than staight on approach. Just poor engineering.

Cable breakage
Not good. This is an example of you get what you pay for. In the approx 5 months I've owned this tool I have broken two outer shafts and two inner shafts carving one woodturning. The handpiece heats up too. I've had Foredom in the past and today I will return this and upgrade back to the Foredom again. Woodcraft has been extremely patient and understanding with the issues I've had with this machine. Their customer service told me today wecheer was very slow and difficult to get any parts from and once again offered to replace the shafts. I've had it.

I have to think about it....
I use it for bird carving. It has the power The handle is too large ( will order smaller one) It is noisy.

Nice Power Carver
I'm a decoy carver and needed something that would work faster than a Dremmel tool. The Wecheer does just that. Easy to understand right out of the box. Like the forward and reverse function too. Can wait to make some sawdust once duck season is over!

High quality product
This is a great product with a lot of useful accessories available. With the proper bits it will meet almost any power carving need.

Very good product
More than I expected for the price.

Good value
I use the Wecheer flexible shaft carver mainly for fast removal when bird carving. Gets the heavy stuff off quickly. I use the Kutzall carbide burrs for this. I have noticed on carving forums of complaints of shaft getting hot. Follow the directions, DO NOT OIL THE SHAFT. The directions say Not to oil the shaft. There is no problem with the shaft, I run mine for hours without heating problems. I am very pleased with this carver, and will be ordering another one soon for use making bowls on my wood lathe.

workhorse
I use this carver for detailing jewelry, boxes, walking sticks, etc. In fact, I put it on its hanger and I leave it ready to go. I use my Dremel for some things but I have found that it has taken a backseat to the WeCheer. The carver is easier to use for detailing because of its lightweight. But it will hog some material of whatever your doing with the right bits. Comes with three collets, the footcontrol, a hanger, and the burr changing stuff. Changing the burr is a snap.

Excellent gizmo!
This replaces a very light-weight Weecheer tool that I had for years and wore out (the little motor finally gave up), and it is a dandy. I highly recommend it.
-
perfect
I replaced a cheap carver with this model, should have bought a heavy duty model too begin with.

I would buy this product again
Mostly use this product for pipe making, but also use it on fine work with furniture.
