Better than wood stain, hands down.
When you need great penetration, good coverage and complete control over the shade, a good wood dye is essential. I used an alcohol base to avoid grain swelling and obtain fast drying. True to its claims, successive coats darken the shade intuitively and clean-up is amazingly easy - much better than either oil or water based stains. Despite its price, this is an excellent product and the formula goes a long way, so the cost can be justified.
