    Sorby Turning Set

I think this is a good intermediate set. I am still amazed that the description says rectangular skew but the picture shows an oval. It has been this way for I think years. I think this kind of goof that goes uncorrected tends to reduce Sorby's credibility unfortunately.

    Great Set

I had been turning wood about 6 months when I decided to upgrade my tools. I bought this set and have never looked back. These tools immediately improved my creativity and the finished product. I primarily turn pens. These tools are balanced and hold a sharp edge.

Great tools for a great price

These tools are a great set for all around woodturning whether you want to turn bowls, spindles or anything in between these tools are amazing. The only thing that I didn't really expect was for the tools to come in a cardboard box, but I didn't mind because I was going to hang them on the wall anyway.

    Exactly what I expected.

Although I am just getting started in woodturning, I have learned over the years that quality tools are worth their cost in the long run. Given the Robert Sorby reputation I was somewhat surprised that the set is in a cardboard box instead of a wooden one as some less expensive sets are. This is no big deal as I will probably make a wall rack for them anyway. This is a nice set and includes all the tools necessary to get started in turning. They do need to be sharpened before first use, but from my research I understand that this is standard procedure for all brands of turning tools.

    Gift for dad

For the quality, price and being a good starter kit you can't go wrong. My first bowl from this set of tools had a better finish with less sanding than the chump China made tools that came with the Jet 1236.
