Its intended purpose is for quickly maintaining the edge on an axe or hatchet, and the finger groove keeps your precious digits out of harm’s way. The 240-grit side quickly raises the edge, while the 400-grit side refines it. Small and lightweight, this stone is perfect to take with you into the field.
