Specially forged for Woodcraft, these intermediate size, professional style tools are 2" shorter than our regular Swiss tools for easier control and greater responsiveness. The precise tempered high-grade steel tools are sharpened, honed and buffed for immediate use with an edge that will stay sharp for many enjoyable hours of woodcarving. These delicately balanced tools work well for getting into confined areas. The overall length is 8" with 3-1/2" blades and 4-1/2" octagonal hardwood handles. Set includes: 12mm No. 2 gouge, 12mm No. 5 gouge, 4mm No. 7 gouge, 14mm No. 7 gouge, 10mm No. 7 bent gouge, 10mm No. 8 gouge and a wooden rack. PFEIL carving tools and sets are "Swiss Made".     Very sharp

    I'm just getting started in carving. These tools are a little small in my hands. The tools are extremely sharp right out of the box. I was able to start some practice patterns immediately. I would UVA Wilkes the set to have included a v gouge.

    I use these to carve tops and backs for mandolins and fiddles. Absolutely the best I've had. Cuts through hard maple better than I hoped for.

    Everything I expected and more.

    I purchased this set for my wife who is a novice carver. She had a a couple of gouges that someone had passed on to her. She thought they were pretty good. After using the new ones, she threw the old ones away. She loves them. The quality is there, they are strong, lightweight and very sharp. I would buy them again and recommend to a friend.
