A very nice carpenter's hatchet - balanced and sharp
This tool feels good in your hands. And yes, only swing it when you want to cut away some wood. Sharp enough right out of the box, I will sharpen it further. My only quibble: on one side of the ash handle, there is significant tearout and the surface is not smooth. I will fix that.

beautiful hatchet for a person with java man arms!
Love the hatchet (though i'd call it an axe) but at 3.5 lbs, with a razor edge, i'm afraid to do any but the coarsest of carving. If i had cave man arms, i'd be enthralled with it! Would be 5 stars if i could swing it :)
