Our Mujingfang 11˝ Jack Plane can be used either with or without the handles and can be either pushed or pulled. The blade is set at 45° and has a chip-breaker which is attached via a screw to the blade. The cutting portion of the blade is A2 high speed steel tempered to Rockwell 62-63. The blades are sharpened and will cut, but for best performance they should be fully honed prior to use. This plane is made from Rosewood and is used as a jack plane or as a regular smoothing plane. It is 11˝ x 2-3/8˝ with a 1-3/4˝ wide blade.

    Good and not so good

The body looks good and the sole if more then flat enough. The iron is hard to sharpen and then looses it's edge quickly in red oak.I know it has lost its edge because the plane starts to chatter like no ones business. So I stop and sharpen it and then go back to work to fix what I just did. If I can find a replacement for the blade that holds an edge better it will be a great tool.
