The Gripper is a revolutionary, universal pushing jig for all table saw, router table and jointer users. This is the first tool that grips and holds both sides of work piece during a ripping operation. Unlike a push stick or push block, the Gripper maintains balanced pressure on a work piece as it passes through and beyond the blade. Maintains a parallel, forward direction with the blade while keeping pressure against your rip fence to prevent burning. Eliminates the need to feed stock with your bare hands providing 100% protection. You can cut strips as thin as 1/4" without any special setup so there is no need to throw away those small scrap pieces. The unit can be offset to accommodate small, irregular shaped, pieces on the router table. Includes main body, handle, 1/4" side leg, 1/2" side leg, center leg, adjustable spacer, stabilizing accessory plate, balance support and comprehensive users manual.

    A Very Pricy Pushblock

Dont get me wrong; this is a very well engineered and presented product with first class packaging both and advertising on review sites and periodicals. However, it is clearly priced far beyond its utility and is touted as an add-on system; one that will cost you additionally for the add-on's. I purchased the basic unit from Woodcraft based upon the offer of the 1/8" side leg as a free offer with the basic purchase. Had it not been for for the free offer of the side leg, it would have remained on the shelf.

Some Assembly Required, No Batteries Inc

My wife helped me assemble one of the units (I bought two) and her main complaint was that it should have come at least partially pre-assembled. Given that each unit could be assembled in a variety of different configurations, I didn't agree, but she is my wife and I had to share her sentiment. I used the pair in putting in a dado slot on a few 10 ft long 2x4's with my table saw and the hand-over-hand operation worked flawlessly. These units work excellently to keep your hands and fingers well away from the spinning blade of the table saw and for me, safety is the most important consideration with all my powertools.

    Worth every penny!

Easy assembly. Great grip on all woods. Am able to rip Thin pieces on table saw, whereas before with my push-stick the wood tended to wander away from fence after passing the blade. No more burn marks. Leap frogging the 2 grippers was very easy to do on long boards.
