Mahogany has a pinkish brown to reddish brown color. This African hardwood of medium density is easy to work with and strong, with a moderately coarse texture, slightly porous grain and consistent color. Mahogany wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is most often finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and accentuates the color and beauty of the wood’s natural grain. This unique size was specially cut to appeal to the wood turners who are doing segmented bowls and want color in the seams between larger pieces. You will be thrilled by the unusual patterns achieved as you turn your bowl or vessel. We have found they also make great additions to cutting boards and other craft projects. This size is also useful for small projects and repairs.
