What an excellent project for you to make for a woodworker or carver, or to keep for yourself. Constructed from solid brass, this Small Brass Mallet Kit weighs in at 18.8 ounces (520 grams). Perfect weight and balance for those times when a little tap is needed. Tool is specifically designed for driving a gouge and finessing a bench chisel where precision is necessary. Kit is simple and easy to create. Use any dense domestic or exotic hardwood species (sold separately), bore a 1/2" diameter by 3/4" deep hole. Mount the blank between centers of the lathe, turn the handle to your desired profile, sand and apply a finish of your choice. Install the threaded insert into the handle and attach the brass mallet head.
