Don't Store in Water
I left this in a container of water for a year and the 1,000 grit disintegrated a lot. I will try to get it back in shape with sandpaper. Just don't do as I did. Good stone other than that issue.
Great stone. I use this on almost everything I sharpen. Super results every time. Buy it, you will love it too.
First attempt at honing
I used this in my first attempt at honing chisels. Took a little, work but this stone was great, they all have mirror finishes now.
My second 1K/6K combination stone
Excellent for maintenance of RAZOR sharp, mirror edges. Requires attention to detail to get it just right, but that's my therapy and I love it. Never a dull knife in my house. Works great on filet knives, as well; I use nothing else.
Fine sharpening is the way to go.
My knives have never been so perfectly sharpened.
i would buy this product again and again
I would buy this product again
This puts and edge on a knife like no other sharpening stone I have ever used.
a great tool for shaping!!, Easy to use and cheap
Combination Waterstone 1000/6000
Excellent stone for knife sharpening. 1000 grit side provides fast and smooth cutting, while the 6000 grit side gives the fine polishing finish to the edge. The 1000 grit wears down faster, so a separate 1000 stone may be needed in the future - after a couple hundred uses or so. The stone is actually a King/Ice Bear Brand, which is a good japanese waterstone. Overall, a great value product and fast shipping service from Woodcraft. I would not hesitate to buy one of these again.
easy razor edge
A great product. I, a novice sharpener, easly achieved a razor edge on my plane blades and chisels, English and Indian. Far out performed my oil stones, though they aren't anything special but for the price this water stone is a great alternative to expensive Arkansas stones. The 1000/6000 is a great combination to take a blade from start all the way to a great finish.
1000 side is a perfect transition to 6000 side. The stone's larger size makes it easy to maintain a perfect sharpening angle. This is a very fast and easy to use stone.
Don't judge a waterstone by its price
Magazine's writers always recommend expensive sharpening stones and jigs. In fact, one can have good results with cheaper and simpler methods
I will buy this product again
Excellent combination stone for the price!
Great quality, exceeded my expectations
good combination stone
King waterstones - the best
Gentle use will work best!
Great waterstone for a good price!
Great for use when honing straight razors! I recommend this stone very much! Works as good as a Norton, yet a fraction of the price! [...]
Exactly what I wanted. Thank you!
I polish Japanese swords and this is perfect.
