The High-Speed Steel Drill Bit Set with Reduced Shank 29pc features 29 high-speed steel drill bits for do-it-yourself use in ferrous and nonferrous metals including aluminum, copper, brass, plastics and wood. Not recommended for use on hard metals such as stainless steel. For a sure grip in the drill chuck, all sizes 3/16" (4.76 mm) in diameter and larger have three flats on the bit's shank. Their 135 degree split-point tip on all bits 1/8" (3 mm) in diameter and larger eliminates the need for a center punch and keeps the drill from "walking" on hard surfaces. All drill bits with a diameter larger than 3/8" (9.52 mm) are manufactured with a shank reduced to 3/8" (9.52 mm).
